Aegis Wing and Yie Ar Kung Fu are coming to the United States

The ESRB website has been updated with two new games. The first is the previously announced Yie Ar Kung Fu, which was supposed to be released only in Japan. The second is a title called Aegis Wing. This will be an unknown title for most of you; however, there was a rumor about this title spreading across forums a few months back that it was an XBLA game set for a spring release. With the fact that it is now listed on ESRB and isn't available at Gamestop for preorder, it looks like this may in fact be an Xbox Live Arcade release. Only time will tell whether this is an Xbox Live Arcade title and just what exactly it is.

For the European readers, there is no information yet whether either of these titles are coming out by you.

Aegis Wing

Was there anything more to that rumor about Aegis Wing? Like a genre, a developer, or anything?

Somebody was speculating that it could be the US title for Project Sylpheed. But it's rated E, and I figure Sylpheed would probably get E10 or T because of all the shooting.

Space Giraffe

Not sure if anyone has posted about this. Jeff Minter gave a presentation at GDC. The video is here... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4394997538725969856 Plenty of SG goodness

I think spaceships shooting
I think spaceships shooting at each other constitutes "fantasy violence," which is well within E-rated parameters. If a third grader can replicate it in real life, I'd LOVE to see it.
As for Yie Ar getting a rating, don't think this means we're getting a localization. MS was kicking around the idea of an "Imports" section of XBLA, so we could get the Asian exclusives if we wanted to, with the caveat that we wouldn't get any support for them from the US side of MS. However, even if this DID happen, just the fact that it's available here would mean that it would have to get a rating.
That being said, Yie Ar's got very little text anyway. And it sucks. But that part's my opinion.
Sylpheed was given the
Sylpheed was given the equivalent of a PG-13 rating in Japan. If you look at the ESRB website with the exception of the X-wing/Tie Fighter games most space games get a T.

Also you'll notice that they aren't given the "Mild Fantasy Violence" tagline although star fox ds is.

But who knows it's just a shot in the dark as to what it is based on what aegis and wing both mean.
Radio Allergy was rated on
Radio Allergy was rated on the same day. It got an E.
