Let me just preface this with the fact that I've never actually played a worms game in my life...

That said, I really like this game, I'm horrible at it, but I do like it. It seems to be the kind of game that you can enjoy while learning how to play it, while the strategic element and the online means it won't get old fast like some games do.

I'd need to play it a bunch more to have a definitive opinion on it, but so far, so good.

I just got around to being able to download it last night and played for maybe an hour? It's a ton of fun even though the "fun" weapons aren't in this one. There is enough variety to the weapons yet that you can find one for the situation at hand. There have been changes (or at least I can't get it to work) to the way the ninja rope works. I'm having a terrible time of being able to swing up to a ledge with it. I'm not sure if you can no longer use this rope to get up a ledge or if it's just the fact that I'm not used to the controller yet. I love the game and hope to do a bit of online play with it this weekend.

From the one quick game I played online, let me tell you that the ninja rope seems to work pretty well (as I stated before, this is my first worms "experience") judging by how quickly one guy was able to swing around and kill me :)

I haven't tried the demo yet, I'm too engrossed in Crackdown. (and I haven't even opened the copy of Gears given to me by my cousin, an MS employee, a few weeks ago).

Worms will probably be one of the first games I buy once I get all those points cards from sierra.

I've played worms online before, a PC version... It was all about being able to use ropes to fling your worm across the map (With precision, I might add). I couldn't keep up with the people who had obviously put dozens of hours of practice. They could get close to you, drop some dynamite on your head, then get themselves hidden back in a hole on the other side of the map, all in 20 seconds. So I'm nervous that the XBLA version ends up the same way.

its definetly worth the $10 but for $14 you can get a nice 3D version of worms called Worms 4 Mayhem with many more weapons, or I dont know how much Worms World Party costs buts its a 2d style worms just like this one with even more weapons and easier to use ninja rope. So I am not cutting the $10 game for the 360, but if your hardcore into worms, there are better games out for PC at about the same price.

I think they nerfed the ninja rope to make it more of an even playing field for casual gamers. In ranked matches you are also only allowed 3 ninja ropes. I didn't actually realize that until within the first few rounds I had already used them up =(

The AI I think is pretty dumb in this game. I have it on beginner(?) and sometimes he'll do a dead on accurate rocket by using the wind and then other times he'll blow himself up. I don't quite get it. Multiplayer is definately where you want to spend most of your time (after you do all the challenges).

Regarding the Worms DLC all the speech banks that are going to be added are in the DS version of worms ( Worms: Open Warfare) and space has been confimred(i think to be a new backround) also in the DS version. I know nothing of the history of worms so mabe these are speech banks and backgrouds always used or if its not so new after all.
