Jeff Minter's XBLA title update

Kornicos was nice enough to point out that Jeff Minter has updated his blog with more details about his upcoming XBLA title. The title certainly seems to be a lot further in developement since we first found out about the game. While the screenshots seem a bit hard to make out, he explains this problem like so:

It's actually a lot easier to see what's going on when things move; this game is almost a worst case for screenshots since a lot of the structures are defined over time (it actually looks clearer on the pic with the plushies and monitor because the shutter speed is low enough that several frames got superimposed). You'll have to trust me when I say that it is actually quite clear in play to see what's going on! }:-)

The game seems to have been given the working title of "Space Giraffe".

We'll bring you more information as it becomes available.

UPDATE: He's also posted the price ($5) and some "unlockable" info:

nah, this is going to be cheap as chips, 400 MS notes and it'll be all yours :)

You'll also get new Neon effects supporting the webcam input as unlockables. That's to make up for the fact that MS stiffed me on doing a proper new version of Neon to truly support the cam, and instead have done some half-assed thing where they just superimpose some cam effect layers over existing Neon. I figure that was a bit rude, so I'll put some proper cam-Neon stuff in the new game by way of schooling };-).

Very interesting.
I need to see video, and have the general concept of the gameplay explained, but from the screenshots alone, I want to try this game.
For $5
For $5 there is no reason anyone should pass on this game even if you don't like this type of game.
That's actually a pretty
That's actually a pretty interesting comment, I know that myself personally when were getting one game a week, the ones that are $5 I just end up buying them without the trial.
Ok, $5 may not matter to

Ok, $5 may not matter to some of you, but some people are on a budget. I could easily pay $5 once a month for a retro game, but if I start buying every $5 game that comes out, I'd run into some issues with the wife.

Besides, If I skip two $5 games, I now have that much more for the next $10 game that comes out.

I'm already smarting from the price of Lumines, or rather, the prices for different parts of Lumines.... But hey, who needs a Vs CPU pack when I have Live to play against anybody in the world?

I also want to object on

I also want to object on quality/market forces grounds...

If we all buy any piece of crap that hits the marketplace for 400 points, MS will not be motivated to increase the quality of 400 point games. We have to be selective to help the overall quality improve. Boycott Pac-Man! (I'm kidding about the boycott)

Yeah, I haven't bought Pac
Yeah, I haven't bought Pac Man or SF because I wasn't too into them, but this is a game by Jeff Minter so it shouldn't be bad.
