XBLA GAME REVIEW HIRING

Please provide your Xbox LIVE Gold gamertag (GT). If you do not have an Xbox LIVE Gold Membership account, or are unable to continue a yearly account, don’t read any further. Your will not be accepted.

If you have had an Xbox LIVE Gold Account for more than a year and have written reviews for any website (including your own blog), please feel free to apply. You will be able to go on to the following….

Describe yourself:

  1. Who are you?
  2. What kind of gamer are you?
  3. What is your favorite genre of games (ex. Shump, Puzzle, Shooter, Etc.)?
  4. If you were left alone with a BIG RED BUTTON… would you press it?

Please list all of the websites you currently write for now; or have done so in the past; listing the past two or three years.


Also list all of the websites you have, or currently contribute to that have forums you actively take part in now; or have been in the past.

Prepare samples of your work, as they are required and will be asked for.

This is not the only website with this "XBLA Application" request

Well, since nobody has posted yet, I guess I will for the hell of it.

  2. One who loves to play games ;). Been playing em since I was a wee one.
  3. Adventures/RPG, or sports. I like all genres though.
  4. Depends how pretty the button was.

    That is where you can see user reviews I have done on gamespot.

    I'm mostly active in the Gamespot forums.

    Just know that those are the only reviews I have ever done, and I don't consider myself a pro or anything ;).

2. I am a hardcore gamer who had videogames in his life since before he can remember. I own about 550 video games. To prove it, here is my collection on VGChartz: http://www.vgchartz.com/profiles/mygames.php?id=17174&type=Own

It says I have 512, but they do not include every console or game device.

3. My favorite genre's are WRPG's, FPS's, and game that have a heavy emphasis on the story aspect. I do appreciate a good game though, regardless of genre (excluding JRPG's).

4. I would not press it. Though that I think about it.. It is tempting..

I Should be your next reviewer!

My nickname is Schoon, I have been in the reviewing business for a number of years most prominently in the Pocket PC Windows CE arena. You can see examples of my work on Pocket Gamer, PDA Arcade and all of them on my own website at http://www.schoonsplace.com . I am an adult male who has been around video games since the days of the atari 2600. I've owned many consoles including the Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Original Xbox, Xbox 360 (of course) and many handhelds. I currently own a Wii, two Xbox 360's, the PSP, the iPod touch and of course my trusty PC. My favorite kind of games tend to be story drive FPS's as I'm currently into Borderlands. I also have Mass Effect 2 and Bioshock 2 but haven't cracked them open yet for fear of taking my attention away from obtaining level 50 in Borderlands.


I would most certainly look around and make sure no one was looking and then quickly press the button to see what would happen.


As for forums, I tend to post on Major Nelson occasionally and AVS for techno geek stuff. I also post a lot on my own sites at Schoon's Place and facebook. Hope to hear back you!

Thank you to those of you that have applied to be an XBLA game reviewer.

The site is nearing completion, but a little bit behind out expected launch date.

We may launch decide to launch the site in it's pre-mature stage anyways without the sponsors to build it up and get feedback from the staff.

There is already staff; but some of you have been short-listed and will be contacted in the next 30 days. Please understand that this is not the only site that this exact request for reviewers was listed on.
