Deja Vu? No new game this week
In what's becoming a really annoying trend, according to Gamerscore blog, we will yet again not be getting anything new this week as part of the on again, off again XBLA Wednesdays. While, this week they decided to make light of the missing game with this video clip, I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one thinking that they should have put the effort involved in making the video into getting a game out the door. At this point I would have even been happy with the Multi-player add-on for Roboblitz.
[UPDATE] Chris Paladino has posted on the Xbox forums about the intentions of the video clip, and while I certainly understand that it was all in fun, and that they have nothing to do with the actual release, without knowing who sent the message, or why, the messenger is often the one who gets it :).
Gamerscoreblog pulled story?
I can't find the "no xbla game this week" article on gamerscoreblog anymore. Freaking idiots. Do they not get it? Oh lets make light of our suckiness then pull it cuz we are morons. Good going marketing idiots. Repeat after me: CONSITENCY. One game a week no matter what.
Publish a release date list now!
I wouldn't mind so much if they missed a week if they would publish a schedule. If testing for a game took a little longer than planned, it would be fine if they published that this or that game is delayed and the new release date is so and so.
Release list is a good idea
Agreed. It seems I'm getting my hopes up for something interesting every week, only to be disappointed by yet another old crap (oh, sorry, "classic") game or no release at all. If they at least published a release list, I could just ignore all the dull weeks and focus on the good stuff.
If traditional publishers who have real distribution and manufacturing factors to take into account can do this, I don't understand what Microsofts problem is.
Gotta love MS..
Microsoft releases NOTHING
Microsoft releases NOTHING for the XBLA the same week that a premier first-party retail title hits store shelves. Coincidence? I think not.
Right, MS must be really
Right, MS must be really worried after the way Contra and Gears of War hurt eachother's sales.
FYI, our team doesn't help
FYI, our team doesn't help or hurt the release process. We're not developers, but we do share in the frustrations that everyone is feeling with the non-release this week.
I posted a follow up to the video on the Xbox.com forums with more details:
